Jim Longwood is a research vice president in Gartner Research, where he is part of both the Asia/Pacific and global IT services teams. He is responsible for undertaking research on sourcing best practices, trends and market positioning of external service providers in the Asia/Pacific IT services market, as well as for providing industry analysis and strategic advice for regional Gartner clients and IT sourcing policymakers. He is a regular presenter at various Gartner events in the region on the outsourcing life cycle, sourcing strategies, evaluation and selection, SLAs and OLAs, contract negotiations, and transition and management of service deals. He focuses on the service integration role, infrastructure outsourcing, systems integration and cloud services, and also assists clients with consulting, BPO, shared services and offshore outsourcing deals.
