Lothar Schäfer is Director of IT Sourcing at SKF Group, where he focuses on next generation outsourcing and its impact on leadership and business culture. Lothar is driving an IT sourcing roadmap through strategic partnerships and a role-based governance model. With more than 20 years of experience as an IT professional, he has covered a range of IT activities from service management, application and infrastructure operation, through to development of cooperative strategies and business transformation initiatives. He has held key management positions in truly global IT organizations including the position of CIO, SKF Germany. Prior to joining SKF, Lothar worked both as a customer and a supplier of IT products and services, managing international service organizations.
