Roger Burlton is a founder and principal consultant of BPTrends Associates and a member of the BPTrends Advisory Board. He also founded the Process Renewal Group in 1993. PRG is a pioneering association of thought leaders in BPM.
He is considered a global innovator in methods for business and technology change and is recognized internationally for his leadership in Strategic Alignment (2000), Stakeholder Analysis (1997), Knowledge Management (1996), Business Process Management (1991), Prototyping and Rapid Systems Development (1984), and people-based Project Management Methodologies (1980).
Roger has developed and chaired several high profile conferences on advanced business and information management globally, including Knowledge and Process Management Europe, and the Knowledge Management conference series in the US. He was the chair of the annual National Business Process Re-engineering Conference in the US and Software World Canada, Canada's largest IT management conference for five years running. Roger also chaired the Business Process Management Conference for Shared Insights (now IIR USA) from 2003 through 2008 and is currently the chair of the IRM UK BPM Conference held in London. His pragmatic BPM global seminar series started in 1991 and is the longest continuously running BPM program in the world.
Roger's highly acclaimed book, Business Process Management: Profiting from Process is regarded as the reference book for process professionals who want to conduct process strategy and architecture initiatives as well as process renewal projects and process governance.
Roger graduated with a B.A.Sc. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Toronto and is a certified Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario.
