J. Trent Adams
Outreach Specialist, Internet Society

Trent works for the Internet Society as an Outreach Specialist for the Trust & Identity Initiative. His focus is building relationships with technologists and regulators on issues related to online identity and privacy. He draws on 15 years of experience that includes pioneering digital media production, designing e-commerce engines, as well as supporting various specifications, standards, and advocacy communities. Before joining ISOC, Trent founded a company offering a portable, privacy-respecting recommendation system. He incubated the idea as Chief Innovator for the Kraft Group where he earned 3 Super Bowl rings while running the online operation for the New England Patriots. As an Outreach Specialist at the Internet Society, Adams helps build relationships with technologists and developers and collaborate on tools and documents to communicate key issues related to trust and identity. He was a founding officer of the DataPortability Project and Chairs the Kantara Initiative Leadership Council. Prior to working for ISOC, Adams founded MatchMine, a 43-person media recommendation company, filing 3 patents on the technology. The system he designed was a uniquely portable, personalized, consumer-controlled, privacy-respecting recommendation system. He incubated the idea while working for 10 years as the Chief Innovator for the Kraft Group Sports Properties, including the New England Patriots.
