Michael Hanford is a vice president and analyst with Gartner's Program and Portfolio Management service. Mr. Hanford's research spans both the private and public sector, including implementation and capabilities evolution for portfolio management, large-scale program management, PMOs and EPMOs, and various aspects of IT governance. His public-sector work spans three countries: Canada, the U.S. and the U.K. He has variously worked, across 30 years of experience, as the visionary for a leading PPM toolset, a consulting director for large-scale change management programs, and chief methodologist for an industry-leading commercial methodology. Mr. Hanford chairs the PPM & IT Governance Summit, and is a former co-author of the PPM Magic Quadrant.
