As head of Riverbed Technology’s operations in Australia and New Zealand Steve Dixon is responsible for the strategic direction and day-to-day management of the company’s operations in the A/NZ market. Steve has nearly 25 years’ of experience in the IT industry and has been deeply involved in the Australian and New Zealand networking markets. He has previously worked for UK company Case Communications (now Logical) in England and Australia, was sales director and then managing director of the Australian operation of networking vendor Cabletron Systems, then formed his own company Full Spectrum (later renamed Kinetica) which he later sold to Sonnet Corporation Limited. In 2005, Steve joined Riverbed as Managing Director, A/NZ, where he was charged with establishing the company in this region. Since then Steve has established a national operation in Australia with Riverbed now having offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Perth and Brisbane. At the same time he has created a network of specialist distributors and resellers in Australia and New Zealand who support Riverbed in the sale and support of its leading WAN optimisation portfolio. He is a respected speaker on IT issues and trends, particularly relating to the communications segment of the market and is a regular contributor to key industry events such as the Gartner Symposium. Steve has taken part in multiple webcasts and on-line broadcasts.
