An engineer with a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Francisco Jesús Martín Abreu is president, CEO and founder of Optenet. Upon completing his doctoral studies, he worked as a researcher on numerous projects for international R&D companies, including the European Space Agency (ESA), Construcciones Aeronáuticas, S.A. (C.A.S.A), and the Center for Industrial Technological Development. In addition, Abreu has participated in various government research projects, authored multiple publications and has a deep working knowledge of the IT field. In 1997, his career took a dramatic turn when he developed WebFilter, the first European Internet content filtering tool, and founded Optenet.
