Dr. Augustsson began his career with General Dynamics in 1983; during his tenure with the organization he has held a host of senior level positions, including, Senior Engineer – Aerospace Division, Chief Environmental Officer, Staff Vice President for Personnel Relations and his current elected position of Chief Information Officer and Vice President, Information Technology.
After completing a tour in the Army’s Special Forces – Airborne Rangers, Dr. Augustsson graduated from University of Florida (cum laude) with a BS degree in Aerospace Engineering, followed by a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from The George Washington University, a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Old Dominion University and an additional Master’s Degree in Management from MIT – Sloan School of Management. In addition to his academic achievements, Dr. Augustsson has authored and co-authored more than 50 presentations and publications in science, engineering and management.
Furthermore, Dr. Augustsson has a strong sense of civic duty; he serves on the Board of Directors of the Hispanic College Fund and is the Vice Chairman of Finance and Treasurer of that organization.
Dr. Augustsson and his wife Dee reside in Fairfax Station, Virginia and have two children.
