Bob Carr is chairman and chief executive officer of Heartland Payment Systems, the nation’s fifth largest payments processor. Under his guidance, Heartland has grown from processing 2,500 to 250,000 business locations; 25 to 3,000 employees; and increased its portfolio from $0.4 billion to more than $80 billion of bankcard volume in the past 12 years. A strong merchant advocate, Bob spearheaded “The Merchant Bill of Rights” to promote fair card processing practices for all business owners. Currently, he is working towards industry collaboration to fight cyber criminals and the adoption of end-to-end encryption.
