Track A: Plan: Architect a Strategic Approach to BI, Analytics and Performance Management Information derived from business intelligence technologies must be linked directly to business decisions. But most organizations still struggle with fragmented BI initiatives and architectures, proliferation of BI tools and silos of departmental analytic applications. Bringing these initiatives together into a coherent strategy is vital for success in BI, analytics and performance management. This track will consider how to develop and deliver a successful BI strategy that brings these different elements together into a strategy that will maximize your return on investments in BI and associated technologies.A
Track B: Platforms: Evaluating Markets, Tools and Technologies for Better InvestmentsThe marketplaces catering to BI initiatives continue to grow more complex. Markets are increasingly dominated by mega-vendors, which is forcing organizations to re-examine their vendor selection and architectures. Meanwhile, emerging trends and alternative delivery models are radically changing views of how to build and deploy BI. Sessions in this track provide a deeper understanding of these shifts in areas of BI platforms, data warehousing, analytic applications, information integration and quality, and ways of integrating those emerging technologies with existing infrastructure — as well as a view on how the market will change in the next few years.B
Track C: People: Developing the Right Program Management Competencies and Partnerships with BusinessAdoption of BI usage is predicted to double within organizations in the next five years, and IT is struggling to manage this increased demand. Because of this, Gartner predicts that 40% of BI budgets will be held by business units by 2012. It is therefore imperative that all areas of the business and IT work together to ensure success through the effective use of BI, analytics and performance management initiatives. This track focuses on the management frameworks, methodologies, competencies, governance issues, compliance to achieve consistency as well as best practices for establishing competency centers.C
Track D: Performance Management – Beyond Just Measuring It The demanding business environment has driven an increased requirement for analytic applications that support performance management. However a lack of knowledge and understanding means that most of these applications are failing to deliver significant improvements in business performance management. This track addresses the business benefits of performance management and other analytic applications, and details best practices around the application of analytics in business domains. Learn how to link performance management to planning, budgets and operational activities to aid strategy execution, as well as identifying the right metrics to improve organizational performance.D
