The largest IT operations management vendors (BMC Software, CA, HP and IBM Tivoli) have acquired their way to about 60% of the IT operations management market. Significant market consolidation has left few IT management vendors with annual revenues between $50 million and $1 billion. The “Big 4” vendors are focused on a subset of their portfolios and have created what is, essentially, a framework of products, leaving the remaining mid-sized vendors and numerous small vendors to differentiate, innovate and position themselves accordingly. This presentation will explore the IT management market and identify who stands to gain and lose as a consequence of the industry's changing dynamics.
