The introduction of virtual server technology has lead to the discovery that many of the management tools that IT organizations have already invested in may not be able to easily adapt to this new environment. Many new and even existing management technology suppliers continue to rush in to fill the gap. In addition, we are increasingly seeing virtualization providers themselves moving into management as well. This presentation describes how virtualization affects current management technology and the evolving attempts to standardize virtual server management; it also highlights the emerging management leaders.
