The data center network is in transition. The all-Ethernet data center is in sight; however this isn't the Ethernet that is currently being deployed throughout the rest of the enterprise. Data center solutions must address the reliability, scale and performance of Fibre Channel and InfiniBand at the connectivity end of the spectrum. Higher up the stack, the network must become application-fluent in order to transition to become the control point of a virtualized data center.
