Geoff McGhee
2010 Knight Fellow, Creative director, Bill Lane Center for the American West Stanford University, Stanford University

A veteran of online news, Geoff McGhee now runs a laboratory for information visualization at Stanford University's Bill Lane Center for the American West. He spent 2009-2010 as a John S. Knight Journalism Fellow at Stanford, during which he produced the acclaimed interactive documentary, "Journalism in the Age of Data." McGhee spent eight years at The New York Times, where he founded its industry-leading online infographics and multimedia team. He has also worked at Le Monde Interactif in Paris and ABCNews.com. He graduated from Columbia Journalism School in 1999. He also teaches in the Stanford University communications program and at an annual infographics workshop at the University of Navarre, Spain.
